Paid extermination

Why the hell is the extermination of animals subsidised by most governments as well as EU? Our consumption of flesh and fish is so big it has become a major problem with the enormous resources needed to feed the cattle and the seas being emptied. At the same time we get fat, simply because we get too much protein.

By taking away the subsidies the price would increase and the consumption fall. Which would make people cherish meat and fish more, eat less and loose some weight. At the same time, and more importantly, the seas can survive without heavy, forced cuts on the slaughter and the Amazon will be destroyed at least more slowly.

Next you go go shopping, think about the devastation you leave behind if you choose that steak and go and get some fruit and vegetables. If you don't know how to cook it, go and get a cookbook! And remember: It's most likely proteins (and unnecessary carbs) that make you fat, not butter or cream. :)
